FALL RIVER — The Narrows Center for the Arts is set to host a series of performances this June.
According to a community announcement, the lineup features a mix of national and local acts, ensuring a variety of entertainment options for attendees.
The events kick off on Friday, June 6, with the John “Papa” Gros Band. Gros, a pianist and organist, has spent over three decades sharing the vibrant culture of New Orleans through his music. He blends various genres, including funk, jazz, and blues, creating a unique sound that reflects his city’s rich musical heritage.
The following day, Saturday, June 7, legendary blues guitarist Ronnie Earl will take the stage. Earl is a four-time Blues Music Award winner, recognized for his exceptional guitar skills. He has collaborated with numerous music legends, including B.B. King, who praised Earl’s talent and dedication to the blues genre.
On Friday, June 20, Jeremie Albino will perform. Albino began his musical journey as a teenager busking in Toronto. His early experiences of connecting with listeners inspired him to pursue a career in music. He has since developed a distinctive style that combines traditional elements with modern influences.
Samantha Fish will be performing at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River this June.
Samantha Fish will perform on Saturday, June 21. Fish is known for her powerful guitar playing and emotional performances. She has gained recognition as a multi-award-winning artist and has recently earned a Grammy nomination for her collaboration with Jesse Dayton. Her latest album, “Paper Doll,” features nine songs that showcase her artistic growth and clarity of vision.
The following week, on Thursday, June 26, Rob Ickes and Trey Hensley will take the stage. Both musicians have received multiple awards in the bluegrass genre. Ickes holds the record for the most IBMA awards and is known for his exceptional skills on the resophonic guitar. Hensley, recognized as the 2023 IBMA Guitar Player of the Year, is praised for his prodigious talent. Together, they form a dynamic acoustic duo that has captivated audiences worldwide.
Curtis Salgado will perform on Friday, June 27. Salgado is an acclaimed vocalist and songwriter, recognized for his soulful performances. He has received numerous accolades, including eleven Blues Music Awards. His songwriting has been praised for its depth and emotional resonance, further solidifying his status in the music industry.
Los Lonely Boys will be performing at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River this June.
The series will conclude on Sunday, June 28, with a performance by Los Lonely Boys. The Garza brothers have been making music together for over 17 years, blending their Texican rock and roll sound. Their journey from local musicians to Grammy winners is a testament to their talent and dedication.
In addition to the music events, the Narrows Center is hosting the SCCAL Spring Arts Exhibition from May 29 to June 5. This exhibition showcases the work of talented 7th and 8th graders from the Fall River Public School District. A reception for the exhibition will take place on Tuesday, June 3, on the third floor of the Narrows. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the reception is to begin at 4:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided, and attendance is free.
Another exhibition, “Summer Cut,” will run from May 31 to July 19. This exhibition features the works of artists Ashley Pelletier and Olivia Baldwin, exploring the concept of cutting and its impact on visual perception. An exhibition tour led by the artists is scheduled for June 21 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The Narrows Center is also committed to community engagement through its Summer Evenings in the Park program. This initiative will bring arts and music to eight neighborhood parks every Wednesday in July and August.
