This isn’t the first time the creative director, Sanjay Garg, has found resonance in Art Deco’s rhythmic geometry. He has tapped into the major style for several outings. The language has seeped into his saris, kurtas and even lehengas, taking the forms of chevrons, scalloped details, angular borders and linear patterns.
Needless to mention, they have found favour among several celebrities, from Aditi Rao Hydari to Shefali Shah. A memorable look is the Romuva silk brocade sari spotted on Sonakshi Sinha when promoting Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Her charcoal drape showcased all-over geometric circular motifs in gold zari with a dense gold palla, along with the lines on the border.
With her sari, Ruth Prabhu kept the styling pared-down with nothing but a pair of dainty earrings and a ring from Tribe Amrapali. She went the minimal route for makeup in shades of browns and coppers, while her hair was tucked into a dishevelled bun. A microbindi finished her versatile look.
