Grange-over-Sands Prom Art event cancelled due to high winds

Prom Art on the promenade at Grange-over-Sands has been cancelled today (August 31).

The decision was made yesterday as winds were forecast to be in excess of 20 mph today along with gusts of over 40 mph, which would result in dangerous conditions for gazebos being set up. 

The event usually features approximately 80 stalls of artwork and crafts with Morecambe Bay as the setting.

A spokesperson from Port Art said: “Unfortunately due to safety concerns caused by the forecasted high winds, we have had to take the decision to cancel our 31st August Prom Art event.”

Bosses have rescheduled the event for September 14 (Sunday).
