The arts community in Ballymote has received a welcome announcement today as the Hawkswell Theatre will take over the operation of the historic Art Deco Theatre in the town.
The news has been welcomed by former Minister John Perry, who says that this will be a ‘game changer’ for not just Ballymote, but surrounding areas.
Mr. Perry has been a long-time campaigner for the facility to be restored to its full potential, and hopes that the Art Deco will return as a prime venue for theatre and cinema.
