“The core principles of the Hub will never change, such as being a space for free thinking, a fearless platform for discussing and debating openly contrarian points of view respectfully and constructively…and what our possible future may hold,” say Prateek and Priyanka.
This year, the hub will involve the participation of eight curators, each of whom have extensive multi-disciplinary experience with biographies across regions and institutional frameworks. Audiences will meet, among others, Akansha Rastogi, Senior Curator, Exhibitions and Programming, Kiran Nadar Museum of Art; Amal Khalaf, co-curator, Sharjah Biennial 16 & Director of Programmes, Cubitt, London; Puja Vaish, Director, Jehangir Nicholson Art Foundation, Mumbai; and Sharmini Pereira, Chief Curator, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Sri Lanka.

The format is that of a half an hour of monologue from the curators, and a half hour of dialogue between the curator and the audience. As always, there is no single theme for the hub and curators are free to choose what they want to reflect upon.
For Prateek and Priyanka, the biggest takeaway from this year’s hub will the “conversations that will emerge individually and collectively from the gathering.” Further, they point out, “Embedded in each curators’ approaches to exhibition-making is the possibility of reimagining how curatorial practices may evolve.” But there is no fixed process for gathering curators: “…it is as much a question of building fruitful conversations between the participating curators, as it is about the urgency of listening and learning from them,” they say.
