Art Dubai organizers have announced the postponement and adaptation of the fair’s forthcoming 2026 edition in response to ongoing conflict in the Middle East. In an email sent to exhibitors, fair director Dunja Gottweis confirmed the event will now take place from May 14 to 17 at Madinat Jumeirah. The 20th-anniversary edition will transition into a “cultural gathering,” shifting away from a traditional large-scale fair model to feature a combination of curated presentations, collaborations, and public programming.
The fair’s funding structure is also being modified to support participants during this period of geopolitical uncertainty and logistical disruption. Exhibiting dealers will be exempt from upfront stand fees, which typically range from $15,000 USD to $60,000 USD, and will instead pay a percentage of their sales capped at the equivalent stand price. For gallerists unwilling or unable to attend due to travel concerns, the fair is offering to present shipped works with local team support, while those opting out entirely can roll their stand payments over to the 2027 edition.
