Harry and Jack Sutton have brought their unique artworks together for a special showcase for the first time.
A talented father and son have unveiled their first exhibition together in the heart of Kilmarnock.
Harry and Jack Sutton, both artists in their own right, have brought together their unique artworks for their inaugural showcase at Gallery 2 on the town’s John Finnie Street.
Best known for his incredibly vivid portrait and landscape work, Harry Sutton can turn his hand to both painting and drawing.
While Jack, a former Grange Academy pupil, is famed throughout Ayrshire and beyond for his incredibly detailed monochrome pen drawings of iconic buildings and landmarks throughout the country.
Jack, a dad of two, said after the joint exhibition opened at the weekend: “I would love to say that it was an inspired idea from its very conception, but the truth is that I just thought it would be quite a nice idea to have a show with my Dad.
“The closer it got, and the more conversations we had about, the more significant it felt.
“It’s a pretty rare thing for two artists of any calibre, from the same family to be in a position to the share the same exhibition space, especially when they’re both still alive!
“We’ve been greatly supported by William and Iain from Gallery 2 to deliver what I think is a pretty impressive exhibition. We’re hoping for fledgling Ayrshire artist, my mum, to have a wall of her own for the next leg of the tour.”
The exhibition is open to the public now at Gallery 2.
