BACK in October, violinist and crafter Anne Heaton bought a lot of wool and took up her crochet hook to craft a work of art to raise money for Langcliffe Singers.
The beautiful blanket will now be raffled off at the summer concert of the Settle-based community choir where Anne has many friends and where her husband, Brian has been the accompanist for more than 30 years.
The ‘Spirit of Flora’ blanket is designed by Janie Crow, and is based on William de Morgen’s Art Deco flower tiles. Crow’s designs are rightly renowned among crafters, but shot to international fame in 2023 when Justin Bieber attended the Oscars wrapped in her Persian Tiles design.
Now, one lucky person will win the blanket when the raffle is drawn at the Langcliffe Singers summer concert on July 5 in Victoria Hall, Settle.
Raffle tickets are £5 each and are available at various places including Purl and Jane, Mount Pleasant, High Street, Skipton; at Settle Orchestra’s concerts in Settle Parish Church, June 21 at 3.30pm, and Skipton Christ Church at 3.30pm on June 28; or by emailing: annesknit@langcliffesingers.org.uk.
