SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — Do you want to see live painting and music, get creative, and so much more, all while supporting local art? Art SUX For Kids is hosting Art Affair to do just that!
On October 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Art SUX For Kids will host Art Affair. The free annual event celebrates creativity and community. Art SUX For Kids only hosts one fundraiser per year, and that fundraiser is Art Affair.
Spooky theme coming to Sioux City Art Center’s ArtWalk
“Art Affair allows us to continue the Art SUX For Kids’ mission of bringing monthly kids events. With the funds raised, we are assured supplies, including different and unique activities that we’ve wanted to do, but we just needed different and larger amounts of art supplies and funding,” said one event organizer, Amy Thompson.
According to a release, Art SUX For Kids has hosted more than 80 kids’ events since 2018. The mission of Art SUX For Kids reads, “Inspire creativity and help kids express their true selves through art.”

While at Art Affair, attendees can find local food favorites such as crumb., bakeries, and Brekky’s, all of which plan to serve sweets, food, and drinks. This year, attendees can find a live acoustical performance, local artists, live painting, and an expanded kids’ zone.
“Art is inspiring, fun, creative and can open kids’ minds to their own unique selves,” Thompson said. “Artists donate their time to run events. We’re just trying to bring art to the kids — free art activities, to educate in a fun, creative way.”
