Bury Festival of Art to showcase more than 100 artists

On Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12, more than 100 artists from the area will be displaying their work across eight different venues as part of the Bury Festival of Art.

The festival, which is free to attend, will offer a variety of experiences, workshops, and activities suitable for families.

Visitors can expect a range of artistic exhibits, from painting and printmaking to textiles and storytelling.

Art lovers will also have the chance to purchase pieces directly from the artists, offering a unique way to support regional talent.

The festival will take place at several venues, including Bury Art Museum, Two Crows Arts Studio, The Green Café, Greenmount Old School, Ramsbottom Civic Hall, Radcliffe Market, Prestwich Library, and an art fair in Whitefield.

Each venue will have its own schedule, with some only open on either the Saturday or Sunday.

These include storytelling and craft sessions with Janet Brady at Ramsbottom Civic Hall, intaglio printmaking with Alan Birch, and mini watercolour painting with Diane Finlay, both at Bury Art Museum.

Other workshops include autumn-themed collage and calligraphy, Chinese painting, oil pastels, and textile crafts.

Each workshop provides an opportunity to learn new skills and explore different artistic techniques.

The Bury Festival of Art is funded by UK taxpayers through the Government’s Local Growth and Place Flexible Grants, with support from Bury Council.
