Lake District: 120th anniversary art exhibition in Coniston

The Lakes Artists Society is working with the Ruskin Museum in Coniston to celebrate its 120th anniversary with the installation at the Dawson Gallery running until August 30.

The Society was originally founded by W.G. Collingwood in 1904 and has spent the ensuing decades enabling artists to sell their work across the region and beyond.

A spokesperson commented: “Members are all local artists and Cumbrian residents, with a deep artistic appreciation of the unique landscape and character of the Lakes, who have achieved acclaim both nationally and internationally.

“The exhibition at The Ruskin Museum showcases a broad range of these artists’ talent, from moody scenescapes to intimate and moving portraits, there is something for all of our visitors to appreciate.”

The gallery will be open until the end of August, with exhibition books on sale at the museum and contact details for the artists displayed by their works.
