Tea and coffee drinkers have taken the opportunity to pick up luxury kitchenware from Le Creuset on a budget as part of Amazon’s Prime Day sale. As reported in the Express at the time, a set of six vibrant, rainbow-coloured Le Creuset stoneware coffee mugs topped the best seller lists for Amazon Spring Deals Day with thousands of shoppers snapping up the deal before it sold out.

Luckily for shoppers who missed out on the deal last time, the set has been reduced again for this summer’s Amazon Prime Day sale. The cheery high-end mugs have been reduced by 38% to £52.99 in a deal for Prime members for the duration of the sale which runs to 11.59pm tomorrow night (July 11).

With the 350ml mugs sold individually at £17 each, this effectively makes each mug is almost half the price of buying them one at a time, with each mug working out at £8.80 each within the deal. Meanwhile, the six mug set, which includes Cherry, Volcanic, Soleil, Palm, Teal and Ultra Violet shades, still costs a hefty £85 when bought directly from Le Creuset’s website.

Well-known among foodies, Le Creuset is a premium brand which usually comes with a similarly high-end price tag, so these mugs are a great way to start or expand their collection. As well as the vibrant aesthetic, they are a practical option for the kitchen, being freezer and dishwasher safe and made of chip-resistant enamel able, according to the brand, to withstand temperatures of up to 260°C. They also come with a ten-year guarantee, so should be a cupboard staple for years to come, reports ChronicleLive.

Coffee and tea lovers have several other great options courtesy of the Amazon Prime Day sale, with Ninja’s hot and cold Thirsti travel bottle being an early sell out during the event (it’s now only available from Ninja directly), outselling a huge 25% off deal on Stanley Quencher mugs. Elsewhere, Dawson’s rainbow stoneware mugs come in a shade smaller than Le Creuset’s options holding 312ml of liquid, but are also cheaper at £16.99 for the set.

Meanwhile the Le Creuset mugs have thousands of devotees, with more than 1,300 Amazon shoppers awarding the set a rating of 4.8 stars out of 5. Shoppers praise them for their bright colours, their sturdiness and how they keep drinks hot for a good length of time.

One happy shopper described them as ‘eye candy for your kitchen,’ adding: “The rainbow array of colours is simply stunning and has turned my mundane coffee routine into a daily dose of joy. Choosing which hue matches my mood has become a morning ritual.

“The quality is exactly what you’d expect. The stoneware feels substantial and the chip-resistant enamel has stood up to my clumsiest moments. I’ve accidentally clinked them against countertops more times than I’d like to admit, and they still look brand new.”

However, they added a word of warning: “The weight of the mugs is also worth noting. While I appreciate the sturdy feel, some might find them a bit heavy, especially when full.”

Somebody else mentioned: “These mugs are really excellent quality and will last for years. I bought them to replace some Denby mug). These Le Creuset mugs are equally good quality, with very shiny surfaces inside and out so they are really easy to keep clean and do not stain with tea and coffee. The colours are great, and all arrived safely packed and in perfect condition.”

Another shopper said while they were ‘a bit more expensive, the quality is there,’ adding: “After years buying cheap mugs, we finally cracked and bought the full size le Creuset mugs and fell in love with them. They feel solid, wash great in the dishwasher and we love the look. A bit on the expensive side, but for quality cups that will last we’re happy.”
