A stunning tribute to Sir David Attenborough for his 100th birthday has been created on a beach in Morecambe.
The incredible image of the TV legend was the work of a team of sand artists on Morecambe South Beach on Wednesday.
Resident Andy Creer sent up a drone to capture images of the tribute, which included a quote saying: “We often talk of saving the planet, but the truth is that we must do these things to save ourselves.”
Andy told Beyond Radio: “I was in work all day and my wife messaged me to say people were drawing what she thought was a man on the beach and when I got home I should get the drone up.
“When I got the drone up I was absolutely stunned.”

Andy also took this photo looking back towards the Midland.
He also filmed this video of the artwork.
Andy posted the photos on the ‘We Love Morecambe’ Facebook page.
Facebook users commented saying the artwork was “outstanding”, “awesome” and “a beautiful tribute” to the iconic TV presenter.
Others asked if the artwork image had been generated by AI (Artificial Intelligence).
This led to several replies from residents who had witnessed the sand art being created, to confirm it was legit.
Les Dewhirst, who works as kit man for Morecambe Football Club, was one of them.
“It was definitely real, I watched for a while while they were doing it,” he told Beyond Radio.
The sand artists themselves are not known, as we go to press.
Sir David Attenborough turns 100 on Friday, May 8, and a number of tributes are being paid to him around the world.
His TV presenting career spans eight decades and includes programmes such as ‘Life on Earth’ and ‘Blue Planet’.
