Mercedes-Benz Trucks has revealed a one-off Actros L Art Edition, created in collaboration with German artist Sven Liesy, which will tour Germany on a nationwide roadshow this spring.
Developed jointly by Mercedes-Benz Trucks Germany and the Commercial Vehicle Center Hannover, the project began as a concept at the end of 2025 and was brought to life earlier this year. The result is a uniquely finished Actros L ProCabin that combines long-haul performance with a striking, hand-crafted exterior design.
Liesy, who began work on the truck in January and completed it in March, has applied a neo-expressionist style to the cab, transforming it into what Mercedes-Benz describes as a meeting point between commercial vehicle engineering and contemporary art.
The Art Edition retains the core attributes of the Actros L, including aerodynamic efficiency, driver comfort and long-distance capability, while adding a highly individual visual identity intended to attract attention beyond the traditional truck audience.
Mercedes-Benz says the project is designed to demonstrate how commercial vehicles can act as a form of public expression, engaging both industry professionals and the wider public.
The truck will begin a nationwide tour of Germany on 7 April, visiting a number of truck centres before concluding in late May. It is also scheduled to appear at the Truck Grand Prix in July.
During selected dates on the tour, Liesy will attend in person, creating artwork live and giving visitors the opportunity to observe his process and discuss his work.
Born in 1987, Liesy is known for his neo-expressionist style, working primarily with acrylics across a range of surfaces including canvas, textiles and vehicles. His work has been exhibited internationally, and often draws on everyday life, animal imagery and abstract forms.
